BBB May Meet - What is giving birth really like?

By facilitating monthly discussion-based meetups, our aim is to foster a community of positive peer support, with real stories, honest accounts and, of course, tea and biscuits. This event is free.

So, what is giving birth really like? You know the baby has to come, but how will you know when it's happening for real? Does it hurt? Is any of it easy? Can birth be funny?! What can I expect from this momentous day? Expect honest accounts of the struggles, strengths and surreal moments as we explore birth in all its glory. Hear real stories and share your own.

This session is a great place to meet other expectant parents, ask questions and share stories. If you have recently given birth and feel that you'd like to share your story, please do join us! Birth and postnatal professionals are always welcome at our meetups - we believe that when it comes to learning about bumps, birth & babyhood it's always easier with a supportive team around you (no advertising though please!)

We welcome pregnant women, expectant parents, family members and those with new babies. Our group also welcomes those who work in birth and postnatal support and other adjacent fields. We are neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ friendly .
