Join the Beantown Showdown Blockchain Hackathon & Biz Case Competition!

This event is for non-technical and technical students to develop solutions that solve business problems with blockchain, an emerging technology disrupting finance, healthcare, and government.

• Learn how emerging tech can solve real-world business problems!
• No previous blockchain experience is required - just a desire to innovate, learn, and connect.

Hosted by the Boston Blockchain Association and the Digital Business Institute, the University Series is a community effort by a constellation of government, university, and corporate sponsors and partners to:

A day long competition where technical teams of up to four will collaborate to build blockchain solutions on the Avalanche Protocol and present their innovations to technical judges.

• Hacking begins Friday 3/21 at 9:30 am
• Presentations begin on Saturday 3/22 at 12:30 pm
• Recieve guidance from mentors and connect with industry leaders along the way
• Gain hands-on experience coding on Avalanche

Teams of up to four will analyze a blockchain-based business case, craft a strategy, and present their strategic analysis and recommendation to corporate partners.

• Case opens on Sunday 3/9
• Submission due on Friday 3/21 at 11:59 pm
• Presentations on Saturday 3/22 at 10 am
• Recieve guidance from mentors and connect with industry leaders along the way
• Gain hands-on experience solving real world business problems with blockchain

• Hands-on Blockchain Experience: Work with industry leaders and learn about blockchain technology, its applications, and how it can be used to solve real-world business challenges posed by leading corporations.
• Bragging Rights: Add a tangible project to your portfolio, and experience you can speak to, and bragging rights.
• Mentorship & Networking: Receive guidance from experts and sponsors, and build connections with students, mentors, judges, and industry professionals.
• Prizes & Recognition: Compete for a chance to win from a prize pool of $15,000.

Whether you're forming a team or joining individually, the Beantown Showdown welcomes you. Hackathon teams can be formed before or during the kickoff.

Team Size: Up to 4 members per team

Size of event: The competition has limited space with both the hackathon and business case capped at 12 team presentations each. Addtionally, preference for slots to compete will be provided for teams affiliated with university blockchain clubs if needed.
