Bayview Community Center Presentation & Tour
About this Event
Join Phius Wisconsin, co-hosted by AIA Southwest Wisconsin, for an evening tour of the new Bayview Community Center—one of Wisconsin's newest examples of high-performance, community-centered design.
The Phius-certified Bayview Community Center demonstrates how passive building principles can support affordable housing, community resilience, and long-term operational savings while creating healthy, comfortable spaces for residents. Serving as the heart of the Bayview neighborhood, the facility brings together education, recreation, workforce development, food security, and community programming under one roof.
During this guided tour, attendees will hear directly from members of the project team about the vision, design process, and technical strategies behind this innovative facility. Discussion topics will include:
- The Phius design approach and performance goals
- High-performance building envelope and airtight construction strategies
- Energy-efficient mechanical systems and indoor environmental quality
- Solar photovoltaics, battery energy storage, and building resilience
- Integrating sustainability with affordable housing and community development
- Lessons learned throughout design and construction
Following the tour, attendees are invited to stay for networking with architects, engineers, contractors, developers, building owners, and sustainability professionals while discussing the future of passive building design and high-performance buildings in Wisconsin.
Whether you are an experienced passive building professional or simply interested in learning more about resilient, energy-efficient buildings, this event offers an opportunity to explore an innovative community facility, gain insights from the project team, and connect with others advancing sustainable design throughout the region.
