Nau mai haere mai, a very warm welcome to the Bayswater School Matariki Festival 2026.
The theme for Tāmaki Makaurau this year is "Matariki ki te Rangi" - a celebration of our connection to the heavens, the stars, and the aspirations they inspire within our communities.
What to expect:
- Watch local tamariki shine on stage as they share their kapa haka talents
- Crafts for the kids to do
- A makers' market
- Delicious kai
- The famous Bayswater bonfire
- Aspiration station, writing your aspirations for the year to place into the bonfire (before it's lit).
Starting at 4pm, we look forward to welcoming you and celebrating the Māori New Year with you on the 27th of June at Bayswater School.
