This Baybayin Script Workshop is your chance to reconnect with your ancestral roots and reclaim a powerful symbol of pre-colonial Philippine identity.

What is Baybayin?

Baybayin is the ancient script used by Filipinos for centuries before Spanish colonization. Learning this beautiful and expressive script is more than just memorizing characters - it's a journey of cultural rediscovery.

In this workshop, you will:

• Gain an understanding of the history and significance of Baybayin.
• Learn the fundamentals of writing baybayin characters, including consonants, vowels, and markings (mb17+)
• Practice writing syllables and words.
• Take home a reusable dry rease practice mat

This workshop is for you if:

• You're interested in learning about pre-colonial Philippine history and culture.
• You want to connect with your Filipino roots (if you have any!) in a meaningful way.
• You're looking for a fun and engaging way to learn a new writing system.
• No prior experience is necessary. This workshop is designed for beginners and is open to all!
