About this Event

Join us at the CUNY School of Law for a screening of Bay of Blood Screening, followed by a Q&A with Director Krishendu Bose!

Bay of Blood (2023) is a powerful documentary film regarding Bangladesh's Liberation War: a forgotten genocide & how the US supported the Pakistani regime responsible for mass killings in 1971. The film focuses largely on the genocide and investigates why and how it was executed. An estimated 3 million people were killed, 10 million people were displaced to India and 400,000 women and girls were raped by the Pakistani soldiers in months following in effort to quell the struggle for independence of East Pakistan as Bangladesh. The themes of the film unfortunately still resonate today.
