Bay Area Social Impact Filmmaking Conference 2026

Join us for an exciting in-person event at The Nueva School | San Mateo. Get ready to dive into the world of social impact films and explore their power to inspire change. Our conference will bring together filmmakers, activists, & film enthusiasts to discuss and celebrate the potential of cinema to make a difference.
With three engaging workshop rotations, this event is geared for youths in grades 4–8 who are interested in submitting films to the CEC Student Film Fest. Don't miss out on this incredible opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals and be part of the social impact film movement!

Info: Participants will choose from 3 of 4 of the following high school student-led workshops: 1) Film Scripting & Production Techniques, 2) The Creative Lab (Film Environmental Topic Ideation), 3) How to Create an Award-Winning Film, and 4) Film Post-Production/Editing Techniques.

Info: To review the knowledge we've learned, we'll end the day with some trivia questions with a chance to win some high-stakes prizes!
