Dark pumpernickel type bread, covered with an herbal cream cheese spread (chives & dill), cheese (cheddar & havarti), cucumber, parsley, & some with (Kalle's Mäti tahna) Creamed Smoked Roe on them & some without for vegetarians.

ABOUT THE KEYNOTE SPEAKERS:
An active member of the Finnish Heritage Society, Signe Mattson is a first generation Finnish American born in 1939 to parents from Narpio Finland. She Graduated in 1961 from UC Berkeley with a degree in English . She taught English two years in Nigeria and twenty eight in Berkeley California. Since 1959 she is a prolific writer of journals, poetry and prose. She has been a voice for social justice, equity, food security, and rights for indigenous people for over fifty years.
Richard Hourula is a native of Berkeley born to Finnish parents. He has been a teacher for thirty-five years. He is also an active blogger and writer. One of his blogs covers a variety of topics, including films, mental health, current events and humor. His other blog features his poetry. Richard has self-published two novels, the second of which, Threat of Night (Yön Uhka) is set in Berkeley’s Finnish-American community on the eve of U.S. entry into World War II.
