10:00am-11:30am Jazz with Lani:

Unleash your inner wild woman in this sultry, fierce piece to "All That Jazz" from the musical Chicago, as performed by Chita Rivera. A fusion of Fosse's Broadway Jazz and Contemporary Jazz, the all-new choreography builds from a slinky start to a fast-paced, intense finish. In the workshop we'll focus on corps parts, which run throughout the piece; soloists will be identified later based on performance opportunities. See you there!

"Conjuring Contemporary" This contemporary modern workshop will begin with writhing floorwork and rise up through powerful leaps! Conjure your strength, fire and energy to rise up with your fellow dancers! Amber Steele choreographs dances to ignite dancers' strength, presence and connectedness. As the lead of the Dance Program at Skyline College, she seeks to empower students by guiding their embodiments in Contemporary Modern, Jazz and Ballet, Yoga, Pilates, Dance Appreciation, the Roots of Hip Hop Dance, and Dance Production courses. She believes that empowerment comes through practice and that all techniques evolve by embracing new ideas.
