Usually on the anniversary of Tukayyid (or there about) we have a GIANT mech fight with 6 to 9 inch Mechs on 6 inch hex bases! This year is no exception, but this year, we're going BIGGER.

Your Mission:
Build One Hundred tons of fun! Build one massive Assault Mech or two smaller mechs, but no more than two mechs; that's all the bay space you're getting at Solaris. Here's your parameters:
GO NUTS. Experimental Tech Level 4. Clan Tech, Mixed Tech, Inner Sphere Tech. Superchargers, Internal Combustion Engines. Lasers, Masers, and Tasers. Flamers and fire axes.
FORBIDDEN: Hardened Armor and Plasma Weapons of any kind. Please see the discussion for reasons
IGNORE BATTLE VALUE. 100 Tons max. Ignore battle value. If you only get to 95 tons, that's on you!
DESIGN. You could stick with the stock mechs and grab two 50 tonners, but this is Solaris, man! Design a new frame, make up a whole new class of Mech, go Quad-legged, build a Tripod...do whatever your Mad Scientist brain can come up with! But, we do need to see it on the table! Break out your modeling skills, break out your kitbashing skills! Either pick a Chassis and/or parts from gambody.com and tell us what you need manufactured, what parts you need from what, and where to ship the parts to! Email us at [email protected] and we will talk about parts, print time, and then cost.
COST! Even if you're bringing in your mech from 2023 or 2022, we still need to charge you a little something something. If you're getting components printed and shipped, we'll get that figured out, but figure it out fast! Kevin will be in communication with you on what that looks like.
The cost for the event will be $15, plus mechs. We can also get you custom t-shirts for the event, We'll let you know costs on that as soon as we do, but we're expecting them in the $25 area, AND they're made by another person who now shares space with Game State!
FIGHT DAY
We'll start at 10:30. Each Arena for Solaris VII will be built on our 4' x 8' tables. Please bring your Mechs and it would be handy if you bring a tape measure. Have data sheets printed out for your mech or some other way of tracking damage and system status. See rules below for special rules and house rules.
Rounds
Rounds will be 50 minutes.
Pilots
Start with a 3 Gunnery and 3 Piloting.
Scoring
It's Complicated but you'll like it. Basically at the end of rounds, we need to know whether or you won or it was a draw.
*Win: All enemy mechs destroyed/Disabled AND you have at least one mech functional, or you achieve a Special Map Victory Condition (not all maps have this). 2 Points
**Destroyed mechs are mechs that have lost all four limbs, OR they have lost their Left, Right, and Center Torsos, OR they have taken three engine hits, OR they went above 50 on the heat scale.
**Disabled mechs are mechs that have lost their Gyro, OR the head is destroyed, OR the pilot has ejected but the mech does not meet the criteria for Destroyed.
*Draw: All mechs are destroyed/disabled, OR both players still have at least one mech on the board at the end of the round. 1 Point
*Loss: You got tabled. Do better. 0 Points.
Scoring is only used for pairings. Points are different.
POINTS
Points! Each round you play you get a point. Each Mech you destroy you get a Point. Each game you win you get two points. If you fight to a draw, you get a point. If you lose...do better! You keep the points (they're awarded to you as the manager instead of your pilot).
USING POINTS
Rebuild a Mech: If you have a mech destroyed, you need to use a Point to rebuilt it.
Raise Pilot skill: Raising a skill (either Gunnery or Piloting) takes 5 points to go from a 3 to a 2, 8 points to go from a 2 to a 1, and 13 points to go from a 1 to a 0. You cannot advance beyond that.
DEAD PILOTS
Each Mech has an ejection seat unless you specifically choose to not to have one, you monster. If your mech is killed via headshot, or if your pilot has taken 6 damage through the fight, your pilot is dead. But good news! There's tons of unsavory 3/3 Pilots you can recruit without spending any additional points. Unfortunately the points you spent to upgrade your pilot are gone. Thems the breaks.
