Summer 2025 join Bach to Rock at Aztec Shawnee Theatre. Battle of the Bands is an annual event headlined by Bach to Rock bands! Student bands get the chance to perform in real music venues in front of a live audience. It’s a perfect chance for students to build confidence on stage and discover what it takes to be a rock star!
Bach to Rock encourages all student bands to compete in the Battle of the Bands. We divide bands into two divisions— so that students get to compete in their own age bracket.
During the event, each band will get to perform a set of two songs in front of a live audience. Students can play a cover of one of their favorite songs, or they can perform an original song by their band!
Our judges award points to each band based on musicianship, ensemble precision, and stage presence! Extra points are awarded to bands that perform original music, and we encourage each band to play one cover and one original song.
At the end of the event, our judges tally the points and award one winner and two runners-up for each division. Winners not only get bragging rights — they also get to record a demo in our state-of-the-art recording studio!
