Rules for Posting on the Event Page
By posting on this event page, you agree to follow the rules for posts or risk having those posts removed. Moderators have the right to remove posts that break the event page rules. If you see a post that goes against the spirit and mission of our organizations and events, please email [email protected] or [email protected] with a screenshot or contact us through FB.
Belegarth’s Mission: It is the mission of BMCS to create a safe, fun, inclusive, and friendly environment in which participants may engage in medieval-fantasy activities, especially simulated combat with sports equipment and the pursuit, study, and appreciation of related arts and sciences. BMCS shall promote artistry, study, and appreciation in pre-1600's cultures as well as in the medieval fantasy genres.
1) Non-members of BMCS, persons under a current ban from BftR, and those with temporary suspension are not allowed to post on this page.
2) Please be civil with others. The purpose of this page is to promote the event, its member activities, its vendors, and to support our wonderful community.
3) Bullying, harassment, name-calling, airing of grievances, and posts that do not support the missions of BMCS and BftR may be removed. Our mission is to create a supportive community that is inclusive to all and to promote medieval and fantasy arts and combat.
4) Be welcome to post your activities that are open for community members to attend. Groups that offer safe spaces for marginalized people are welcome to post their meeting info, even if that meeting restricts attendance. If a meeting has restricted attendance, we ask the organizers to state that in their promotion as well as some reasoning for any restrictions. If meetings do not restrict attendance, but have rules or expectations for visitors, they should also list this to help attendees. As an example: “Our group is focused on promoting [femme presenting people] in the community, speakers from that group will be centered during our meeting. All are welcome to attend with this in mind.”
5) If someone has a grievance, we ask that they attempt resolution with appropriate channels. For event concerns, contact the FB group or [email protected]. For security or safety concerns, please reach out to our security team at [email protected]. You can also speak with BMCS War Council (WC) Representatives or the Belegarth Board of Directors through their website contact information. If you reach out to us, we will connect you with resources and help you find your nearest WC representative.
We have more private RV sites available! Please email if you want reservation info!
Vendors
This event will have food and medieval goods vendors and has the feel of a small private ren faire. If you are interested in vending, please contact [email protected] for information on getting the city and county permits required and getting a booth spot at the event.
First Time LARPer?
Battle for the Ring wants you to have a great time. Our ruleset is one of the simplest because it is a battle game, meaning easy to learn combat rules. Gameplay is fast paced, and involves resetting to play many different games all day. It's a great intro to LARP combat as it is sporty and your character resets at the start of each game. You might die, but you'll be alive again in a few minutes! Most role-play is done in social situations, outside of combat. Our event supports first timers by having an Embassy Tent/Hospitality tent with water and a loaner library. You can check out garb and accessories for your costume for the whole event, as well as sports equipment like swords and shields. We also have extra blankets and sleeping bags to make sure your camping experience is comfortable. Volunteers at the tent can answer questions and direct you to helpful staff volunteers.
Public Health and Safety Policies
At this time, Battle for the Ring has no required public health guidelines. However, this is subject to change based on federal, state, or local public health rules. We reserve the right to policies at any time based on current community health needs. If policies change, the event description will be edited and a post will be made and pinned.
