Bats for beginners Talk, Night Walk and Poetry - Sutton Courtenay, Wednesday 9 September

Ever wanted to learn more about these amazing nocturnal creatures? Well now is your chance!

This event will be led by Dr Briony Hughes, an Ecopoet and Lecturer in Creative Writing at Royal Holloway University.

The workshop is aimed at beginners who are new to bats and would like to learn more about bat identification. The evening comprises an informative talk, leading on to an evening guided bat walk and poetry around our nature reserve.  During the walk Briony will read one of her bat poems surrounded by the sound of the woodland. Her work investigates how people feel personal connection to bats through poetry and how this can aid in protecting these fascinating creatures.

Specialist equipment and instruction for identifying the bats will be provided, so all you need to do is come suitably dressed for the evening's weather with sturdy walking shoes and ideally bring a torch.
