Bats and Bugs at Fairview Park!

Join us for an evening exploring the fascinating world of bats and bugs alongside biologists and naturalists of Fairview Park.
About this Event

Learn more about the nocturnal wildlife at Fairview Park! We will start with bats and learn about their incredible adaptations and the benefits of having native habitat and wetlands. After, we will explore the amazing insect species that inhabit the park. There will be white sheets set up with lights to attract insects for our observation and documentation.

• Registration is required and will be checked at the gate.
• The capacity for the bat walk is limited, but a higher number of bug only tickets are available. The bug portion of the event will begin at 9:30pm. The event will not be open to bug only tickets before 9:15pm.
• A waiver must be signed in order to participate and a parent or guardian is required to attend with anyone under 18 years of age.
• Wearing closed-toed shoes, long sleeves, and pants is highly encouraged.
• Water will not be provided, so please be sure to bring a re-usable water bottle if you'd like.

Items to bring that are not required but could enhance your experience:

• Headlamps or flashlights.
• Macro lens for your phone or a loupe.
• Digital camera with good zoom capabilities.
