Gentle Steps, Shared Stories, and a Moment to Breathe
In partnership with Baton of Hope UK, Care Anchor Kent CIC is proud to take part in the
national Wellbeing Day for Suicide Prevention in Care Givers. This event is designed
especially for unpaid and paid carers who give so much — often at the cost of their own wellbeing.
This is more than just a walk. It’s a space to pause, connect, reflect, and feel supported.
🌼 What to Expect:
♀️ A mindful walk through Radnor Park led by local fitness trainer, Marketa Patelova (Moving
with Marky)
🎨 Pebble Painting – leave a message of hope or remembrance
📝 Optional Book Contribution – “I Just Wanted You To Know…”, a Baton of Hope UK
publication
🎤 Guest Speaker – Wellness coach Claire Wallis (Positively You Coaching & Counselling
Services)
️ Lunch Provided at St John’s Church Hall
🧘 Relaxation Session led by Matthew Bates (Matthew Bates Hypnotherapy)
🎶 Live Music from Care Anchor founder Carmella Martin
Why It Matters
● 71% of unpaid carers report poor mental or physical health
● 1 in 3 has considered suicide due to the emotional and financial toll
This event is here to say: You’re not alone. You deserve care, too.
📖 About the Book: “I Just Wanted You To Know…”
This upcoming publication by Baton of Hope UK will be a collection of messages, reflections,
and words left unsaid for those lost to suicide.
You are welcome to contribute — poems, prayers, short notes — anonymous or signed, as you
feel comfortable.
It’s not a memorial. It’s a book of hope, healing, and honouring voices that matter.
🧡 Whether you are a carer, have lost someone to suicide, or simply want to show support—you are welcome.
Let’s walk together, talk openly, and carry hope forward.
📍 RSVP by 9th September. To Diane Tanner 07735 534004 or email [email protected]
📧 Questions? Reach out at [email protected] or through our socials.
We look forward to sharing this special day with you.
Because carers matter. Your mental health matters. You matter.
