The Baton of Hope is the UK’s largest-ever suicide prevention initiative and their UK tour is coming to Norwich This public-facing event in Chapelfield Gardens will highlight how creativity can help mental health. We will be highlighting how creativity and talking to each other can help express your emotions. With two 45-minute cabaret performances curated by SOUP Promo in the bandstand. Stalls from the other local charities involved, and information for people on accessing their services and learning how to open conversations with others. Stall holders include Norwich Samaritans, Norfolk and Waveney Mind, Papyrus, NHS Talking Therapies, East Anglian Air Ambulance, Remembering Together & St Martins Housing Trust.
We will also have a creative workshop where people can make their own batons from recycled materials, run by The Garage’s creative wellbeing group. We will entertain throughout the day, and will encourage you to play by inviting you to participate in a circus workshop delivered by Foolhardy circus.
Norfolk & Waveney Mind's Suicide Bereavement Support Service will be offering a safe space for anyone who has been affected by or bereaved by suicide and a chance to get creative with memory pebble painting.
