Bat Night at the Zoo

Calling all bat fans!
Bat Nights are back for 2026! See your zoo and the wild bats that live there in a whole new light! Bat experts with BYU-Idaho and Idaho National Laboratory will introduce you to the bats of Idaho, why they’re important, how your zoo is helping protect natural habitat and expand the knowledge of local bats.
Doors open 15 minutes before the beginning of the program. We’ll meet in the William J. Maeck Education Center with activities and a brief presentation from local bat experts. After the sun sets, you'll get to experience a tour of the zoo, seeing the animals at night along with our nightly bat visitors who use the zoo as an important feeding ground. This event is full of fun interactive displays and activities for the whole family.
You must register in advance to attend. Admissions will not be sold at the event. The event cost is $6.00 per person ages three and older. Two and under are free. Sign up today!
You’ll gain a new appreciation for bats and discover they really are the superheroes of the animal world!
