ALL THINGS FRENCH!
Bastille Day is celebrated in France as their Independence Day. The event that started the French Revolution in 1789 was on July 14th, when the French people stormed the cruel prison and freed wrongly incarcerated political prisoners.
Bastille Day has become a day to celebrate everything FRENCH!
The French owner of the French Continental Club in Greensboro asked our Bolling Crew to perform - cuz ya know - Claude Bolling is a French legend!
SO - we have decided to get some SINGERS involved with us. REAL SINGERS - because we are performing music that has become very popular by French singers, such as the Armenian/French Diplomat and French "Frank Sinatra", Charles Aznavour. We are also performing a very entertaining song by the ever entertaining Jacques Brel. And - Billy Joel wrote a song for the French people. We are performing that song too.
Most exciting of all - we are performing a powerful song about the Parisian uprising in 1832 as depicted in LES MISERABLES.
And also, based upon a very famous Victor Hugo book, we are performing 2 songs that became Top Ten hits after the stunningly gorgeous NOTRE DAME DE PARIS hit the stage in Paris in the 1990's. The show continues to perform in multiple languages around the world.
Sounds crazy sophisticated doesn't it?
NOPE!!!
Just wait - you know what we know - French artists are full of intelligent humor.
This is an emotional show full of fun, vim, vigor and some serious PASSION!!!
With Brian Blauch on Flute, Ocarina, Clarinet and Alto Sax
Allan Beck on Guitar
Virginia Masius on Bass
Steve McHugh on Drums
Will Harrison, Eric L Woods and Joseph Ittoop on Vocals.
And me, Stephanie Lindley on piano, keyboards and voice.
This is not a ticketed performance.
We are accepting donations.
