"Inheritance with a Comic Vengeance" with guest speaker, dramaturg Susan Willis.
This discussion will examine the place of The Hound of the Baskervilles in the Holmes canon and what happens when comically-adept Ken Ludwig subsumes Dr. Watson's place as narrator to adapt the action for the stage and its rich comic traditions.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER | Susan Willis has spent 50 years teaching in university classrooms, 42 of those with Shakespeare and modern literature at AUM. Since 1985 she has also served as ASF's dramaturg, working with rehearsals, writing and speaking for education programs, teaching and directing in the MFA program as well as directing 8 Equity productions, including FAIR AND TENDER LADIES and RICHARD III.
