The Pattern Making Basics 101

Classes limited to 4 people

This is a basic class where you will learn the principles and fundamentals of pattern drafting. Students will learn techniques that focus on various styles that can be created with pattern drafting. Students will start with a basic sloper, which are the basic blocks of the body- the bodice, skirt, and sleeve. From there, we will address fit issues and create a perfect sloper fit for you. By the end of this class, you will have the confidence to start pattern drafting on your own.

Duration: 4 Sessions

Class Limit: 6 Students

Time: 2 hours each Session

Each session, the class will cover the following:

• Bodice pattern drafting
• Sleeve pattern drafting
• Bodice style lines and creation
• Skirt pattern drafting
• Skirt style lines and creation
• Pants pattern drafting
• Pants style lines and creation

Please purchase the following supplies:

• L square
• clear french curve
• hip curve ruler
• tape measure
• pattern drafting pinwheel
• pencils – no pens
• 2-inch clear ruler
• paper scissors
• pins
• scotch tape
