This hands-on experience takes you beyond theory and into practice. You will progress from the fundamental principles of laparoscopic surgery to essential technical skills, with structured training and direct supervision from experienced faculty.
You will have the opportunity to:
✅ Understand the fundamental principles of laparoscopic surgery, ergonomics, operating room safety, and laparoscopic equipment
✅ Learn the principles of laparoscopic imaging and develop camera navigation skills for optimal intraoperative visualization
✅ Practice essential laparoscopic techniques including object manipulation and transfer, pattern cutting, clipping, and endoloop application
✅ Gain practical experience in specimen retrieval using an endobag
✅ Develop fundamental skills in intracorporeal needle handling and manipulation
✅ Practice intracorporeal knot tying and suturing, including single-stitch and continuous suturing
✅ Develop tissue handling skills through suturing practice on biological tissue
✅ Understand the principles of safe pneumoperitoneum creation and the fundamentals of surgical energy in laparoscopic surgery
