The USCG Auxiliary – Hernando Beach Flotilla is hosting a Basic Navigation & Intro to Coastal Navigation Class.Date: Saturday, October 18th 2025
Time: 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Location: 4340 Calienta Street, Hernando Beach, FL 34607
Cost: $40 per person
Class Size: Limited to 10 participants – Registration is required!
What you’ll learn:
* How to read and use basic nautical charts
* Simple paper chart navigation techniques
* An introduction to coastal navigation fundamentals

When boating, the ability to read a nautical chart allows you to orient yourself on the open waters. This is a prerequisite for all boat operators to avoid being stranded. The USCG Auxiliary will walk you through everything you need to know.
