Vanderbilt University Medical Center is approved by the American College of Surgeons as an official course site for BEST™ (Basic Endovascular Skills for Trauma). This course is sponsored by the Division of Acute Care Surgery and teaches endovascular techniques such as resuscitative endovascular balloon occlusion of the aorta (REBOA) to temporize life-threatening hemorrhage.
