Basic Embroidery with Hollea

Want to do something fancy on that jacket? Do you have the cord / thread / wood yarn – but wouldn't know how to make a basic line much less a satin stitch? Then this first course is meant for you! I n this beginner class you will learn the basic stitches – back stitch, straight stitch, lazy daisy, and the chain stitch. We will focus on how to use the embroidery hoop, the needles, and the types of yarn /threads that make up crewel embroidery.
Bring your project ideas – such as those jeans that have to have a hole covered in style. We will discuss the kinds of kits – sorry no cross stitch here – long stitch, needlepoint, free hand and all the other kinds of project you can think of – we will also do some practice.
Students will leave with an 8 page handout and a fabric practice cloth and a 6” hoop to work more on your new found art form.
