Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO) TrainingBALOO Training is a fun-filled overnight program of hands-on skill training designed to help Cub Leaders to take their Packs on overnight campouts. For a Pack to run an overnight program, it is required that at least one leader be BALOO trained.
Learn more about camping equipment, campfire planning, health and safety considerations, Cub Scout cooking, and program planning. The program is a 1 1/2 day experience and the registration fees include overnight camping, lunch and dinner on Saturday, and breakfast and a snack on Sunday. Things to bring: yourself and your camping gear, including eating utensils.
PARTICIPANT FORMS:
Each participant must complete an Annual Health and Medical Record (Parts A & B) and turn it into the health officer upon arrival. ALL participants must have completed the online Safeguarding Youth Training and HAZARDOUS WEATHER TRAINING at my.scouting.org.
ACCOMODATIONS:
You will be sleeping outside in tents. If you have a special need or mobility issue, please bring it to our attention when you register or with the Course Contact.
MEALS:
Participants will be provided lunch, dinner and cracker barrel on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday. Please eat breakfast prior to arriving at camp Saturday morning. If you have any food allergies, please contact the Course Contact at least 10 days prior to the event.
PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS!
This is required so we can have proper amount of materials and food prepared for the event.
CHECK-IN:
Begins at 7:30 am. Training starts at 8:00am Sharp! Training will be finished by 10 am on Sunday.
Registration closes on October 11th. Must have at least 6 participants for the class to run. Maximum number is 24 participants.
This training is for Scouts BSA adults or Cub Scout Pack Adults crossing over in 2026.
