About this Event
The tour will begin with an introductory video to the North Wing and the Great Hall.
You’ll then be taken in the hall, where you’ll hear about its uses over the centuries, some of the craftspeople involved in its construction, and the previous and current conservation and restoration programmes.
The next stop of the tour will be the deck viewing platform, where you will climb the scaffolding staircase and see the conservators at work on the ceiling plasterwork.
You will then continue on to see the William Hogarth paintings, which is where the tour will end.
There will also be an opportunity to handle some conservation tools and replica architectural features in the conservation in action zone.
Please NB: This venue is an active building site. There is step only access to the ceiling and we cannot accommodate wheelchair users unfortunately. Safety gear will be provided.
Limited places. Please only book if you are certain you can attend.
This Event is for London Historians members only. Join London Historians.
