Bartholomew & Faye MacCalman | Sounds Of The Underground
Advertisement
A one-off show from Bartholomew and Faye MacCalman, who will perform a semi-improvised, ambient exploration presented as an immersive experience with surround speaker system and audio-reactive lighting.
Bartholomew is an electronic musician and creative technologist based in Newcastle. Their music combines experimental and generative techniques with acoustic instrumentation to tell personal stories and evoke landscapes – real and imaginary.
Faye MacCalman is a jazz saxophonist and clarinetist. She is one third of avant-Jazz-art-pop trio Archipelago, described by Jazz wise as a "heady mix of post-rock drumming, free-bop saxophone and punchy bass guitar riffing". Faye's solo shows combine folk-flecked song, looped woodwinds and the odd collective scream.
Capacity is limited to 50 seats, so booking in advance is advised.
