About this Event
Rutgers University and Harmony Lab at Express Newark proudly announce a collaboration with the Barry Harris Institute of Jazz to offer a series of piano and harmony workshops based on Barry Harris' unique pedagogical insights. Barry Harris is widely acknowledged as one of the greatest jazz educators of all time. Barry’s approach to jazz harmony, and in particular his methodology concerning chord movement, has inspired thousands of musicians all over the world. We are pleased to officially offer the Barry Harris Harmony Workshops for the NJ/NY jazz community.
The Barry Harris Harmony Workshops in 2023 will convene at Express Newark in the Harmony Lab on the following Monday evenings at 7:00 pm: October 16th, October 30th, November 13th, November 27th, and December 11th. Attendees must register via the Eventbrite.
Admission is free, however, donations to the Barry Harris Institute of Jazz are strongly encouraged.
