Meet at our depot to walk up to Barrowcroft Wood - 5 mins away and help us rescue the rare chalk grassland from becoming secondary woodland.

Transport & Address:

We will meet on site at 9:15 at the depot. Our address is 60 Fennels Road, High Wycombe, HP11 1SL. There is a pay and display car park right next door - card or Ringo only.

Please can we ask everyone to arrive on time to ensure you do not miss the walk up to Barrowcroft Wood. We will put on our HiVis, gloves and safety glasses and carry our tools up to the site , a short walk away. Please don't be late as we won't be able to come back to meet you. Thank you.

Note: Please bring plenty to drink as we won't be bringing a tea kit today.

The Task

We are really excited to start our work at Barrowcroft Wood, right on our doorstep to start the new year! Come and help cut back the scrub that is taking over this rare chalk grassland habitat.

Timings (please note these timings are approximate):

9:15 Meet at the depot, get PPE & tools & then walk up together.

9:30 Safety briefing

11:00 Break

12:15: Lunch break, please bring your own

14:30: Work finishes, time to walk back to the depot

What to bring:

Please bring your gloves (we will have spares) and dress for the weather and the task.

Long trousers are advisable as there may be ticks and thorny vegetation. We also recommend wearing steel toe capped or sturdy boots rather than trainers.

Wear layers that you can remove if you get hot whilst working. Bring a waterproof as most of our sites have no shelter from the rain. You may need a hat and suncream if it's sunny.

Please bring plenty of fluids and a packed lunch. No tea kit today! Remind Jack to bring some biscuits!

Biscuits are served at all Chiltern Rangers sessions. Please advise if you have an allergy.

Sometimes there is a need for us to use power tools that can be noisy.
