Keegan Lazarus is an Ottawa-based pianist and educator with a background in classical performance. He maintains an active private teaching studio, working with students of all ages and helping them develop their musical skills and pursue their individual goals. In recent years, he has expanded his musical practice into jazz and improvisation, regularly attending jam sessions at Jazz@248 and exploring new approaches to collaborative performance.



Shirley Liu is a flutist, pianist, and music teacher based in Ottawa. Shirley obtained her B.Music (2015) and B.Education (2016) at Queen’s University, where she was awarded the prestigious Medal of Music upon graduation. After working as a public teacher in the United Kingdom, Shirley continued her musical training at the Memorial University of Newfoundland where she obtained her M.Music in Performance/Pedagogy (2020). While Shirley’s formal background is in classical music, she enjoys more contemporary styles such as jazz, musical theatre, and video game music. She maintains a busy private studio, regularly helping her students achieve high results in exams, auditions, and local competitions.


The 248 Collective Band from Jazz@248, Ottawa's only live Jazz club on 248 Bank Street, will bring the audience through a series of Jazz genres, such as Swing, Bebop, Bossa Nova, and Funk. For tonight's show, we present one of our best and youthful lineups who have made themselves heard in the local Jazz scene, as a quintet.Featuring Marko Culf on Tenor Saxophone, Ramel Bautista on Electric Guitar, Lee Ha-Young on Keys, Cory Parsons on Double Bass, and Howard Jian on Drums.We are proud to be here and hope the fundraiser will be a success!
