Starting this summer, Barnes West presents 5 Everyday Places Artist Partnerships - pairing a social-impact artist with an “everyday” location. These artists will create participatory and interactive artistic projects by, with, and for the West Philadelphia community.
Join us to meet and greet the artists and learn more about ways to get involved with their projects! Featuring live music and refreshments.
Everyday Places Artists:
Jahwula Seapoe - yoga & writing with Clara Muhammad Square, Imperial Caribbean & Seafood, and One Art Community Center
Karen Smith - arts & crafts, poetry, and drumming with The Silk Tent
Keyonna Butler - upcycling clothes & hand sewing with Kanvas Event Center
Andrea Walls - creating a museum of Black joy with the Center for Carceral Communities
Marshall James Kavanaugh - community poetry with LaPearl Beauty Emporium
