Barn quilts are a form of American folk-art. Traditional barn quilts are large pieces of wood brightly painted with a single quilt block design adorning the side of a barn. Recently they have been enjoying a resurgence in popularity and many rural communities are creating ‘barn quilt trails’ for an interesting and colorful drive across the countryside.
In this workshop students will be led through the process of designing and painting a smaller 12”x12” version of this artform for display in your home. The skills learned can be utilized to create a larger quilt for outdoor display on your garage, porch or shed.
You will have the opportunity to choose between several classic quilt patterns with your own color preferences. Cost for this beginner’s level workshop with all materials provided is $60. Advanced enrollment is required and space is limited. Lunch will be provided and is included in the cost of the class.
