Birth Matters, Midwives Matter!

We invite you to join us for an afternoon of fun, connection and support as we rally around local midwife, Kim Osterholzer, who is in a contest to retain her midwifery license.

For over thirty years, Kim has been a steadfast advocate of empowered home birth. She has sat with women and families through their most vulnerable and tender moments of breaking, healing, loss, and unbound joy. For over 800 births she has quietly slipped through the front door of houses beholden to that liminal dance through pain and love and new sacred life, and inevitably, death. She tiptoes towards that mother’s roar with her wisdom, grace, compassion, discernment and a black bag full of all the practical life-saving-in-case-of-emergency things.

At 2am on a Monday or 4pm on a Sunday, she has stood by us as we fret, or anticipate all that is good and hard in this life. But now we must stand. Imperfect hand in imperfect hand, small hands, large hands, trembling, confident, calloused, and wrinkled hands. We are called now to serve her. The road ahead is long and arduous and costly. They have long known, that communities who laugh and love together, are so much harder to crack. So we are here to have fun, to sing, to dance, to eat and drink! And… the slightly more boring part… raise as much cold hard CASH as possible along the way.

We love you all, and we cannot wait to have so much fun together at this Barn Benefit!

Info: There will be tables set up with Silent auction items/goods/services. All proceeds will go to supporting Kim's legal fees.
