Barking Soup

Based on the Detroit Soup model (https://www.buildinstitute.org/detroit-soup/), which allows people to vote and potentially win funding to develop a good idea, we want to pilot bringing pitching dinners to B&D.
B&D Soup will be a regular idea-sharing and project-pitching networking dinner for cultural partnership group members.B&D SOUP is a micro-granting dinner celebrating and supporting creative projects at Barking & Dagenham. Attendees receive a soup, bread and a vote and hear from several project presenters. Each presenter has four minutes to share their idea and answer four questions from the audience. At the event, attendees eat, talk, share resources, enjoy art and vote on the project they think benefits B&D the most. At night's end, we count the ballots, and the winner goes home with a £1000 grant to fund their project. Then, winners come to a future SOUP dinner to report their project's progress.
