Whether you're just beginning your coffee journey, dreaming of working as a barista, or looking to improve your home espresso skills, Barista Training 101 is the perfect place to start.
This hands-on, four-hour workshop is designed to build confidence behind the espresso machine while introducing you to the fundamentals of specialty coffee. Throughout the class, you'll learn how coffee is evaluated, how to pull balanced espresso shots, steam silky microfoam, and create café-quality beverages using professional equipment.
Unlike large classroom settings, our training is intentionally limited to just 4 participants, allowing every student to receive personalized instruction, hands-on practice, and one-on-one feedback throughout the course.
During this class, you'll learn:
- Introduction to specialty coffee
- Coffee origins and processing
- Sensory development through guided coffee tasting (cupping)
- Espresso extraction and dialing in
- Grind size, dose, yield, and brew ratios
- Milk theory and steaming techniques
- Introduction to basic latte art
- Troubleshooting common espresso mistakes
- Tips for building consistency behind the bar
