Barbara Renner writes children’s books that transport you to a magical world in your mind where you can feel, learn, and be inspired. From the lakes of Minnesota to the desert of Arizona, Barbara’s books take you places.
As “Sun Birds,” Barbara and her husband escaped the Phoenix heat by living in Minnesota during the summers. This is when she discovered the fascinating Loons, so she decided to write a picture book series about Lonnie the Loon.
After learning about the once endangered Trumpeter Swan, she wrote two picture books about Pen and Cob Swan.
Barbara developed an innovative way for children to listen to animal sounds in her wildlife books, yes, even the haunting calls of the Loon. QR codes are not just for advertising.
When not writing her books, newsletters, and blog, Barbara loves to travel, garden, and walk her dog, Larry.
