Michaelle Goerlitz has been playing drums and percussion since she was eight years old. After attending college in the Midwest, she moved to San Francisco in 1980 to continue her studies, which have led to exploration of Brazilian, Afro Cuban, Venezuelan, Peruvian and Middle Eastern rhythms (plus American idioms jazz, R & B & funk). She was a founding member of two renowned & long-term projects, the Blazing Redheads and Wild Mango. Both groups blended many different styles which showcased Michaelle's versatile percussive skills. | Website
Mia Pixley, Ph.D. is a mother, clinical psychologist, and artist who uses her cello, voice, and music performance to study and represent aspects of self and other, community, and the natural world. Similar to the collaborative lens from which she approaches her psychotherapy practice, Mia’s artistic collaborations lead with curiosity, honesty, humility, and humor. Protectively whimsical and simultaneously melancholic, Mia’s music gravitates toward the beauty hidden in sorrow, pain, and loss and this beauty’s potential to inspire curiosity, wonder, rebirth, and reconnection to ourselves, each other, and the natural world. | Website
Kofy Brown, an Oakland, CA musician, singer, and songwriter, is a pioneering force in the Bay Area’s hip-hop soul scene. As the leader of her band, KBB (Kofy Brown Band), she has toured extensively, paving the way for other indie artists to follow in her footsteps. In addition to her work with the KBB, Kofy is also a co-creator, bass player, and lead songwriter/vocalist in the legendary all-black girl rock trio Sistas in the Pit AND showcases her talents as the drummer and vocalist in her latest project, Skip the Needle.
For Jasper Manning, playing bluegrass music is about more than just the catchy melodies and lightning-fast licks. When he picks up his mandolin, he’s carrying on an oral tradition that began before he was born, which he hopes to carry into the future.
Twisted songs, social satire, and singing vulvas, Lisa Koch brings the funny, with velvet pipes and razor-sharp parody. With 5 solo recordings, she is an alumnus of Seattle's loony sketch comedy duo, Dos Fallopia (My Breasts are Out of Control, Ham for the Holidays), and cult quartet Venus Envy (I'll Be A Homo for Xmas). She has shared the stage with Steve Martin, Janis Ian, Lily Tomlin, Karla Bonoff, Kate Clinton, and more.
