About this Event
A requirement for those seeking the Sacrament of Baptism for a child at our parish and within the Archdiocese of Miami, this course provides insight into the journey this Sacrament of Initiation brings. We hope this desire to raise your child as a Roman Catholic Christian and enter into the Family of God through the Sacrament of Baptism may be a cause of great joy.
Parents and Godparents must attend a Pre-Baptism class taken at any parish. A certificate of completion must be presented to the parish office in order to schedule the Baptism of your child.
General Requirements For Child Baptism At St. Edward Catholic Church
- Parents must be registered and participating members of St. Edward for a period of at least 4 months prior to the baptism. You can register at the parish by clicking here.
- Parents must request the Sacrament of Baptism and both must consent to the baptism.
- If parents are separated or divorced, a notarized authorization of consent from the other parent is required in addition to the completion of the Archdiocese of Miami Notice of Rights and Responsibilities of Parents and Guardians consent form. Both forms will be provided by the parish office.
- One must provide your child’s birth certificate and both parents’ identification cards.
