About this Event
The Brampton Arts Organization (BAO)'s Arts Philanthropy & Sponsorship Forum is a dynamic event developed to enhance the culture of philanthropy and sponsorship within Brampton's arts, culture and creative sectors.
This event will empower artists, arts organizations, and potential sponsors/donors to foster new connections, deepen knowledge, and explore strategies to help enhance the financial sustainability of the arts, culture and creative sector.
Through insightful panel discussions, interactive Q&A sessions, and casual networking, attendees will leave with practical tools and inspiration to help you fuel the arts, culture and creative sectors in Brampton.

Transportation: We can provide all-ages Brampton Transit Tickets free of charge to those who need them for all BAO in-person events. If you would like to pick up a ticket for yourself and others attending with you, please email [email protected] prior to the event and we will have them available for you onsite. Tickets work for both Brampton Transit and Züm buses.
PANELLISTS
Liz Forsberg is the Partnerships Lead - Impact at the Ontario Trillium Foundation where she develops strategic partnerships to build capacity and infrastructure at a systems level across Ontario’s nonprofit sector. Prior to joining OTF 8 years ago, she worked in nonprofits focused on the arts, community development, mental health, and the environment in a variety of roles ranging from front line worker to executive director. She is a passionate champion for the role nonprofits play in building vibrant communities.
With a passion for social change and unlocking opportunities to drive community impact, Heela Omarkhail leads Social Impact at The Daniels Corporation, one of Canada’s largest purpose-led developer/builders. Heela oversees Daniels’ commitment to realizing its purpose of building inclusive and resilient communities.
As a passionate and strategic leader, Heela is responsible for creating, implementing and elevating innovative programs which ensure that social impact is embedded in every facet of the company’s work prioritizing the creation of affordable and accessible housing, local economic development and social infrastructure within the communities in which Daniels builds.
Since 2009, Heela has played an integral role in the ongoing success of the first three phases of the internationally celebrated Regent Park Revitalization in Toronto’s downtown east, that has witnessed the transformation of a once‐stigmatized social housing community into the gold standard of a mixed‐income, mixed-use, inclusive neighbourhood.
Since 2020, Aubrey Reeves has been the President and CEO of Business / Arts, a national charitable organization that shows the power of partnership between business and arts through programs such as artsvest and the Canadian Arts Summit. Previously, Aubrey held leadership roles at Culture Days since its inception in 2010, eventually becoming National Executive Director (2017-2020). Aubrey has also worked with the Ontario Arts Council, Trinity Square Video, Dance Current magazine and has served on the Board's of the Liaison of Independent Filmmakers of Toronto and Dreamwalker Dance Company.
A multi-disciplinary artist and curator, Aubrey possesses a unique set of sensibilities that allow her to champion initiatives encompassing the perspectives of artists, audiences, cultural organizations and partners alike. Her artworks have been exhibited across Canada and internationally. Aubrey holds an M.A. in Curatorial Studies from Bard College and a B.A. in Arts Management and Visual Art from the University of Toronto.
Jaspreet Sandhu is the Director of Communications, Public Affairs, and Research at the Ontario Arts Council, a public agency driving $60M in arts funding through 3,000 grants annually. With leadership roles at TIFF and Massey Hall, she has led transformative projects and bold advocacy campaigns. A champion for diversity and community building, Jaspreet is committed to shaping a more inclusive arts sector across Ontario.
