In response to the recent surge in book banning efforts, The Spine Bookshop is hosting a "Banned Book Sit-In" event on December 1st from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. This peaceful, civic-minded demonstration aims to highlight the importance of intellectual freedom and the right to access information.
Participants are encouraged to bring their favorite "banned books," along with a blanket and snacks, for an all-day "sit-in" at our store. Together, we will read these prohibited works, making a powerful statement that, despite attempts at censorship, we will continue to seek out and appreciate diverse perspectives through literature.
Join us as we stand in solidarity with authors and readers alike, affirming that the freedom to read and think freely is a fundamental right. Let's demonstrate that, while books may be banned, our curiosity and determination to learn cannot be silenced.
