On Saturday, August 1, 2026, the American Banjo Museum will once again present its annual youth event, BANJO FARM. The family-friendly celebration features music and comedy performances by Lucas Ross, along with an instrument playground where kids can try a variety of instruments, beginner banjo workshops, crafts, games, and hands-on activities designed to inspire the next generation of musicians.
"I love bringing this event back to the museum each year," says Ross. "When kids get excited about music, it opens doors they may never have imagined and can truly be life-changing!"
“One of the greatest gifts I was ever given was someone handing me an instrument,” Ross added. “I love that we have a day dedicated to giving that same experience to the next generation.”
Returning this year, the Oklahoma Opry will present its popular Instrument Choral, giving children the opportunity to explore and play a variety of instruments. Banjo Farm will also feature face painting, crafts, beginner workshops, and the return of the Youth Showcase, where young musicians can perform for family and friends throughout the day.
Banjo Farm runs from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 1. Admission is free for children ages 15 and under and half-price for adults. A complete schedule of events is available at www.americanbanjomuseum.com/banjofarm.
