About this Event

Bandhani is one of India’s oldest textile traditions, a meticulous tie-dye craft and an integral part of our cultural heritage in Rajasthan.

Created by carefully pinching and hand-tying hundreds of tiny knots before dyeing the fabric, the process reveals intricate patterns once untied. Bandhani is known for its rich colours, fluid patterns, and deep connection to heritage, ritual, and community, it is a design you can see in every Rajasthani woman’s wardrobe.

We are excited to bring this craft to the Netherlands through a workshop that will build on your natural dye skills, you will learn traditional tie-dye techniques using natural pigments. From binding and pattern-making to dyeing and revealing the final design, this workshop invites you to slow down, work with your hands, and create a one-of-a-kind textile piece.
