Baltimore Musical Improv Jam Session

We at Baltimore Musical Improv want to bring musical improv to anyone and everyone who is interested. Part of that mission involves hosting events where we can all just relax and play a whole bunch of musical improv games just for the fun of it. So come and enjoy an afternoon of fun, relaxed musical improv games with us for FREE! Whether you've taken a musical improv class, attended a workshop, or are totally new to the scene, this jam session is assured to be a fun time. All that's required is a willingness to be goofy in a musical manner!

Unlike Baltimore Musical Improv's monthly workshop, this jam session does not focus on teaching a specific topic/technique with structured lessons. Rather, this jam is a looser gathering where we all just get to play a bunch of musical and music-related improv games. But don't worry, we will still go over the rules before playing a game so that anyone can jump right in!

This jam session is split into several parts. The first hour consists of introductions and warmups which lead into a large batch of different musical improv games picked by the facilitator. Then after a short break, the second hour contains a full run of a musical improv show, followed by some time for musical games chosen by anyone in attendance, then topped off with a cooldown game!

There is a decent amount of free street parking around the meeting venue, as well as a free parking lot on the corner of St. Paul and 20th Street.

Someone from the group will wait outside at the entrance before (and a little bit after) the start of the event to welcome you in. If you are running late, you can message the group WhatsApp (details below) and someone can let you in. Alternatively, ring the doorbell!
