The fog in the hall still lingers.
The warm, sand-colored light gently breathes, and everything is perfectly set to welcome our guests for the last home game of the season.
ZULI, Cocktail Party Effect, Isabassi, and Rama will orchestrate the evening’s sonic journey, amplified by the USV Soundystem cabinets.
The first act is ZULI, NTS resident DJ/producer hailing from Cairo, already endorsed by figures such as Aphex Twin, Autechre, and Bradley Zero. His sets are characterized by the fusion of raw percussive textures, compelling grooves, and unexpected rap influences.
Next, Isabassi, the Italian-Brazilian composer, DJ, and sound engineer, based between Milan and Berlin, will cloak the room in a cinematic tension, weaving together leftfield basslines and hypnotic half-time rhythms.
Then, Cocktail Party Effect, aka Eric Baldwin, one of the most daring experimental DJs/producers, will infuse the space with his futuristic bass and dystopian soundscapes. His experience with renowned labels such as Tectonic Recordings, Nervous Horizon, and Sneaker Social Club will shape an extraordinary sonic experience.
The grand finale will be entrusted to Rama, a multidisciplinary artist and DJ from Cairo, now based in Berlin. With avant-garde mixing techniques and explosive rhythms, she will freak the physic by blending bangers with non-club elements and deconstructed sounds.
As a special touch, the evening will begin with a warm-up by the Balleremo Sonic Squad.
See you in the dance.

ZULI
Ahmed El Ghazoly aka ZULI (stylized in all capitals), is a musician, producer, and sound artist from Cairo, Egypt.
Internationally, ZULI is best known for his releases on Lee Gamble’s UIQ – which included a string of EPs as well as his debut LP Terminal, an album that highlighted the depth in his productions, as he simultaneously combines experimentations in rap/hip-hop with music for listening as well as the dancefloor. The Italian Haunter Records also saw the release of the infamous Trigger Finger EP which went on to be remixed by the likes of TSVI, AYA, Acre and more.
In 2019, ZULI launched a video series ‘irsh’ together with Rama where they curated and invited artists to play video recorded sets in a social setting. Only having the chance to record two episodes before the pandemic struck, they launched a label and released the two compilations.
Locally in Cairo, ZULI is best known for his work in the Hip-hop scene, particularly with rapper Abyusif (who appeared on ZULI’s 2018 album ‘Terminal') but also in the Electronic music scene as part of the now defunct collective Kairo Ist Koming (KIK) between 2012-2015.
It’s there he founded Cairo’s alternative music venue and club, VENT, together with Asem Tag aka ($$$TAG$$$), which existed between 2013-2015 before transforming their project into a namesake club night and festival. Around the same time, VENT London was established at the now closed Dance Tunnel venue by a third partner, Mohamed Elshourbagui.
ZULI’s music garners support all over the board ranging from the likes of Aphex Twin and Autechre, to Ben UFO and Bradley Zero, even Richie Hawtin through its wide ranging sound.
He joined the NTS Radio roster in 2016 with a monthly show that includes a dedicated hour to guest appearances from up and coming DJs and ones he meets touring around the world.
Coktail Party Effect
Cocktail Party Effect is the forward-thinking IDM and bass music project from Eric Baldwin. With a signature blend of intricate rhythms, innovative sound design, and powerful basslines, CPE has solidified a strong presence in the electronic music landscape.
Driven by a relentless passion for experimentation and sonic exploration, Cocktail Party Effect has developed a distinctive sound that defies conventional genre boundaries. His music seamlessly combines elements of IDM, Jungle, and Breaks with immersive, bass-heavy beats, creating a captivating and dynamic auditory experience.
With a series of critically acclaimed EPs released on respected labels such as Tectonic, Nervous Horizons, Osiris Music, Sneaker Social Club, and Midnight Shift and with a new album out on YUKU, Cocktail Party Effect has earned recognition and a loyal following. His tracks have garnered widespread support from influential DJs, cementing his position at the forefront of the underground music scene.
Isabassi
Isabella Bassi is an Italo-Brazilian music composer, DJ and audio engineer based between Berlin and Milan. Over the past seven years, she has focused on her solo music project, Isabassi, while also curating radio shows, teaching electronic music production courses and workshops, organizing events, and performing at renowned venues such as Berghain (Säule), Tresor and OHM. Isabella has also played internationally in Italy, Amsterdam, Portugal, France, and at the visionary Mamba Negra in São Paulo, Brazil.
Exploring half-time and leftfield bass, sound collage, re-sampling techniques, electroacoustics and drum programming, she allows various pieces of gear to shape each creative phase. Her latest album Speaking Things, released on Super Hexagon, features intricate sound design, rich textures, and prepared guitar experiments, all composed in a low-tempo range and heavily influenced by trip-hop.
The debut album, Utterly Prone To, released in 2019 on Fox & Hound Recordings, featured eight tracks of raw, distorted beats. In addition to her solo albums, Isabassi has contributed to various VA compilations on respected labels such as Ohm Resistance, System Revival, ygam, Minor Adjustment, Syncretism, and Suspension.
Rama
Rama is a multidisciplinary artist, DJ and co-founder of the Cairo based independent music platform irsh. She grew up between Egypt and France and is now based in Berlin.
As a DJ, Rama swiftly made a name for herself in Cairo's electronic dance music scene after becoming a regular at underground parties such as VENT, JellyZone and MOSHTRQ. She is recognized for her ability to draw from a diverse range of sounds with a method of mixing that is more akin to live mashups than regular blends.
On the radio, Rama showcases a wider palette of music that may not always be suited for the club. She joined the Noods Radio roster in 2019 where she hosts a monthly show. Other radio appearances include NTS, Rinse, Radio AlHara and Refuge.
Previous performances include Unsound Festival, FIBER Festival, Nyege Nyege, Nuits Sonores, MNFA, SUTRA, Frequent Defect, Station Electronique, Sneaker Social Club.
