Ballarat Heritage Festival Shuttles - Join us for our annual Ballarat Shuttles on Saturday 21st May, Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th May 2022. Wave to the Ballarat locals and the lineside photographers while we take you back in time aboard the Vintage Train. Our short shuttle trips run 18km to the tiny country town of Lal Lal. Stopping just out of town, the train will then return you to Ballarat Station, passing high speed V/Line trains on the approach to Ballarat.
Newport to Ballarat Transfer - On Friday 20th May 2022, board our transfer train for the journey from Newport to Ballarat via Werribee and North Geelong. Travel on the picturesque and little used line from Geelong to Ballarat which was the original mainline from 1862.
Ballarat to Southern Cross Transfer - On Sunday 29th May 2022, board our transfer train for the return journey back to Melbourne. Experience the magic of steam at night, listening to our steam loco working hard to climb out of town and head towards Melbourne via 'The Straight' - Ballarat's second railway connection via Bacchus Marsh & Melton. View the city lights all the way through to Melbourne as we drop down the famous Ingliston Bank from Werribee Gorge into Bacchus Marsh. The train will pick up speed for the final section across the plains and into Melbourne, dropping off passengers at Footscray and Southern Cross Station.
