Fugu Dugu from Chicago and Enver Izmaylov from Ukraine are the headlines of most famous world music festival Jetlag in upstate New York and will make only one stop in Detroit to play together with a great local Michigan musican Vlad Tovbin. FUGU DUGU
Fugu Dugu is a female-led Eastern European gypsypunk rock band inspired by the fields of Moldova,the mountains of Romania, railroads of Ukraine andRussia, with a touch of Klezmer and Americana.Born in Chicago in 2017 and conceptualized byGrammy-winning violinist and lead singer OlyaProhorova and Chicago singer-songwriter MarkAdkison, Fugu Dugu has been performing acombination of original and timeless EasternEuropean songs across the Midwest. With its style deeply rooted in the folk traditionsof Eastern European melodies, Fugu Dugu songsare sung in three languages - Romanian, Russian,Ukrainian and English. Fugu Dugu is often referredto as "female Gogol Bordello." Originally a duo, in2021 Olya Prohorova and Mark Adkison expandedthe band by adding bass and drums. Shortly after,they began production of a 9 track full-lengthalbum to be released in Spring of 2024. In 2023 the band performed together with the “GodFather of Ukrainian rock and folk-rock music” OlegSkrypka and he called Olya “a genius violin player”Over the last year Fugu Dugu played in the majorChicago music venues (Sleeping Village, Reggies,Constellation, City Winery, Des Plaines Theater,Hello Nonny) and beyond Illinois - in Florida, Indiana and Tennesee

SeriesEnver is famous for his mesmerizing tappingguitar technique and a rich blend of CrimeanTatar, Turkish, Uzbek, Balkan, classical, and jazzinfluences. His repertoire includes captivatingoriginal pieces and inventive renditions of TheBeatles, Pink Floyd, and other classics.Fugu Dugu is a female-led Eastern Europeangypsy punk rock band inspired by the fields ofMoldova, the mountains of Romania, railroads ofUkraine and Russia, with a touch of Klezmer andAmericana.Together they are headlining a major world musicfestival “Jetlag” and touring USA in JuneA virtuoso hailing from the vibrant tapestry of CrimeanTatar culture, Enver is a master of both folk and jazzguitar, renowned for his innovative tapping techniqueon the electric guitar.
