Balkan folk dances - workshop and social in February. No partner required!

Join me in these active workshops on Balkan folk dances in February. Come on your own or bring friends! Suitable for beginners or experienced. Don't be afraid of the duration - time will fly by as there will be explanations, breaks and you can participate as long as you wish.

Keep active and enjoy rich traditional music from the Balkans - chain dances with repetitive steps - no partner is required. This is not Bregovich music! :)

Each dance has a basic patter which I will explain in details and we can practise, then we will connect it in a chain dance. Duration of each dance is 2-3 minutes and you can choose when to participate. We will start with warm up, slow dances, and we will increase the tempo and difficulty.

Please note: Phone number is required by the college's registration process. You will be asked to enter it after you complete the payment.

What to expect on the day :

• Basic exercises and music for warm up.
• Break down of and practise some basic steps / combinations.
• Learn a few dances - some are with very easy combinations, others might be a bit more complicated. You can participate as you wish.
• Three parts with breaks:
  - Part 1 - workshop - patterns and dances practice
  - Break
  - Part 2 - workshop - patterns and dances practice
  - Break
  - Social - we can repeat some dances without detailed explanations, or simply dance your favourite one - slow or fast tempo. This part will be suitable for more experienced dancers if there are any present. Time can be used also for socialising.
