Balkan folk dances in Dublin - 2 for 1 special - class & social - January

You are curious about Balkan folk dances and culture, or you would just like to learn something new, or surprise someone with an unusual gift? Balkan folk dances are chain dances with repetitive steps where no partner is required. This is not Bregovich music! :)

What to expect in the class (duration 1h) :

• Basic exercises and music for warm up.
• Break down and practise some basic steps / combinations.
• Learn a few dances - some are with very easy combinations, others might be a bit more complicated. You can participate as you wish.
  The evening will continue with social dance part (duration 30 min).:
• We can practise some of the dances without detailed explanations.
• You will have the opportunity to listen to / dance on live music (bagpipe and two-sided drum).
• Socialise or learn more advanced dances .

What to wear:

Please bring a clean pair of soft shoes that you will use only in the studio (trainers are ok, or others that are not with hard sole. They don't have to be special dance shoes). Dancing barefoot or with socks is not suitable.

The studio is in Santry, just beside Omni shopping centre, near bus stops and with free parking.
