Baking with Lavender: Sourdough Muffins
About this Event
Join the Agri-Nature Center's Agricultural Program Director, Erin Callahan, for a fun, hands on workshop where participants will mix and bake lavender sourdough muffins. During this interactive workshop, participants will perform both the initial step of mixing the dough for it's long fermentation process and also the final step of mixing the batter and baking the muffins. Each participant will get to enjoy a freshly-baked lavender muffin at the end of the workshop, and will have the opportunity to take home a small jar of sourdough started along with dough made during the workshop to complete the recipe for themselves at home!
The recipe used during this workshop will be vegan, but can be easily adapted to substitute dairy and eggs for the vegan ingredients. This workshop is intended for home baking only, although the curriculum will be reviewed for proper food safety procedures by NMSU's Amber Benson.
