Baking with Honeypie Bakeshop | Thanksgiving Pumpkin & Pecan Pies

The Holiday Pie Class led by Honeypie's Co-Founder and Chief Executive Pie Officer, Valeri Lucks is focused on our traditional Thanksgiving pies. It is a hands-on lesson in making blind pie crusts and baking the most decadent of pumpkin and pecan pies for your holiday gatherings.

We will begin by making the dough for our crusts while learning the how-to's of getting a great pie dough result. We'll then learn how to blind bake your crusts for crispy crust bottoms. From there we will learn the methods for making excellent, silky pie fillings and the many variations that can be made from both the pumpkin and pecan base recipes. Y

You will have the opportunity to create two (2) of your own 9" versions of these pies (in two of the flavors you love most, or one of each). We will bake pies in class (about 40 min of oven time) giving you time to hang with your classmates.

At the end of class you will have fully baked pies to take home. Pies are freezable once fully cooled if you want to save them for the holidays!

Your ticket for class includes all of your ingredients, a printed recipe with tips and tricks, your finished baked treats and a drink ticket for the bar good for a tap beer, well cocktail, wine or any NA beverage to enjoy during or after class.

Our classes are approximately 2.5-3 hours and are limited to 12 people. We do stand most of the time and work at a table in a working professional kitchen (we can arrange for a stool to sit on during class if needed, please let us know if you need one). Wear clothing you don't mind getting flour on and closed-toe, non-slip shoes. The Palomino kitchen and bar is open before class, during the class break and after class serving drinks and our full dinner menu.

(Please note, we often have long wait lists for our pie classes. Tickets to class are non-refundable if you cancel without more than 72 hours notice. If you need to cancel within 72 hours of class, you are welcome to email us, and we will offer your spot to a person on the waiting list. If it is taken by someone waiting, we will refund your ticket. You are also welcome to give your ticket to a friend and they can attend in your place.)
